PDV Open terms of use

Last updated: 31/10/2026

1. Acceptance of the terms

By buying or using the PDV Open software, you accept these terms of use. If you do not agree with any part of them, you must not use the software.

PDV Open is developed and maintained by MAT Tecnologia LTDA, CNPJ 49.180.424/0001-74, a company based in Brazil.

2. What PDV Open is

PDV Open is a point-of-sale system installed on the shop's computer to record sales and manage the till, stock, customers and sales on account. It includes an optional module that automatically backs up the data to the shop's own Google Drive.

3. Purchase through Hotmart

Payments for purchases made outside Brazil are processed by Hotmart, the payment platform through which we sell PDV Open: it takes the payment, sends the receipt and handles questions about charges and refunds. When you pay, you also accept Hotmart's terms of use.

Prices are shown in Mexican pesos (MXN), as a single payment, and you are charged in that currency when buying from South Africa as well. The payment methods available are the ones shown on the Hotmart checkout at the time of purchase.

4. Licence to use

We grant you a perpetual, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to use the software. The payment is made once and gives you the right to use the purchased version indefinitely, with no monthly fees.

Each licence is activated on a single computer and stays permanently linked to it. We do not transfer or release the key for another computer. Using the system on a second computer, even to replace a lost, stolen, sold or damaged one, requires buying a new licence. The same applies to each additional till in the shop.

Reactivating the licence on the same computer, after formatting it or reinstalling the operating system, is not considered a transfer and does not require a new licence.

Optional modules are bought separately, as a single payment, and stay linked to the licence on which they are activated.

5. Nature of the software (not a fiscal device)

PDV Open is an internal control system for sales, cash and stock. It does not issue tax invoices or electronic invoices and does not connect to SARS or any other tax authority. Meeting the business's tax obligations is the sole responsibility of the user, who must use other means to issue invoices when required.

6. Automatic backup to Google Drive

Google Drive backup is an optional module that is only switched on when you connect your Google account and authorise access on Google's consent screen. By using it, you accept that:

  • Backups are stored in your own Google Drive account and use its storage space; keeping space available is the user's responsibility.
  • The application creates and manages only the backup files it generates itself, without accessing the other files in your Drive.
  • You can revoke access at any time from the application or at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
  • Sending the backups depends on the internet connection and on Google's services, which are beyond our control. We recommend also keeping a local copy.

7. Intellectual property

The software, including its source code, design and structure, is the exclusive property of MAT Tecnologia LTDA. You may not:

  • Resell, sublicense or distribute the software.
  • Reverse engineer it or attempt to copy the source code.

8. User responsibilities

  • Keeping the licence key and the system's access passwords safe.
  • Using the software in accordance with the law that applies to your business.
  • Checking regularly that backups are being created correctly.

9. Support and updates

We offer technical support by email for questions about installing and using the system. Updates with fixes and improvements may be made available at no cost, but we are not obliged to offer new features at no additional cost.

10. Refunds

You can request a full refund within 7 days of the purchase. The conditions are in our refund policy.

11. Limitation of liability

The software is provided "as is". We are not liable for:

  • Data loss caused by hardware failure, viruses or misuse (we recommend frequent backups).
  • Interruptions or changes to third-party services used by the system, such as Google Drive.
  • Loss of profit or financial losses arising from the use of the software.

12. Privacy

How we handle your personal data is described in our privacy policy.
